Celebrate 100! Good Turns
A "good turn" is an intentional act of service.
Imagine all the good we can do for the world if every Girl Scout celebrates the 100th anniversary by performing 100 good turns!
The service aspect of Celebrate 100! reinforces the Girl Scout slogan to "do a good turn daily." Troops are encouraged to perform 100 good turns with their troop/group from January through December 2012.
Simple acts of kindness by individual girls or service projects completed by troops/groups can be recognized. Troops/groups can keep track of their progress using our special Good Turn Chain. Those who accomplish the goal of performing 100 good turns can receive a certificate to remind them of all the good they did during the Girl Scouts' 100th anniversary year.
Tracking the number of girls involved will help us describe the thousands (maybe even millions) of good turns done collectively and the impact on the community.
We want to hear success stories!
Send a brief description of the good turns being done with troop information and a photo to email@example.com so we can share them with others. Photos received by August 31 may be featured in a Good Turns slideshow at The B.I.G.* Event!
Good Turn Chains brought to the Volunteer Workroom (Girl Scout Center, room 122) by August 31, 2012 will be displayed at The B.I.G.* Event, creating an outstanding visual of the thousands (maybe millions) of good turns done by San Jacinto Girl Scouts!
