Lights, Camera, Action - Girl Scouts Hit the Small Screen

KTRV-TV, Channel 13 welcomed Girl Scouts into their television studio to tape a Public Service Announcement (PSA) for the Girl Scouts annual gala, Urban Campout which will be held Thursday, May 3 at InterContinental Hotel.

Girl Scouts Keturah C., Grace M., Khepera J. and Anna C. taped the spot with anchorperson and Urban Campout Mistress of Ceremonies Maya Shay. "It was so exciting to be in the television studio," said Keturah. "I can't wait to see myself on TV." Although all the girls had a speaking part as a group, Keturah had a line of her own, which she delivered with ease and confidence.

The girls who participated in the PSA taping are members of the Council's Media Corps. Members of the Media Corps participate in media opportunities for Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council. The Media Corps program gives the girls an opportunity to develop public speaking skills while getting first-hand knowledge of the inter-workings of radio/television and print media.

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world's preeminent organization for girls, with a membership of more than 3.5 million girls and adults.
