Girl Scouts Honor Community Leaders

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) recently honored community leaders Scarborough Elementary and Northline Elementary. Scarborough Elementary was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation. They allow Girl Scouts to use their facilities and they also donate supplies. Scarborough Elementary’s generosity and steadfast support of Girl Scouting has played an important role in an area that has been underserved in terms of Scouting. Because of the school’s contributions, girls are enjoying the leadership development program that Girl Scouts offers.

Northline Elementary was also honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for strong support through the use of their facilities and for spotlighting Girl Scout activities. In a short period, the Girl Scout program has grown to more than 30 girls at the school because of their partnership.

Chartered by GSUSA to provide Girl Scouting locally, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the country serving over 63,000 girl members and 18,000 adults in 25 southeast Texas counties. For more information call 1-800-392-4340 or visit

GSSJC Pluralism Statement
Embracing and promoting pluralism is an integral part of every activity and plan of Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, not disconnected or separate projects. Only individuals willing to accept and be educated about the basic tenet that Girl Scouting is for all girls may serve in volunteer leadership or staff positions.
