Free Parenting Workshops Foster Brighter Future for Girls

The Future Begins Today with Girl Scouts

HOUSTON (June 19, 2008) – Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council has teamed up with YMCA of Greater Houston and to offer free workshops and activities for the entire family on a variety of topics, including financial literacy (managing money effectively), literacy, developmental assets and developing healthy relationships. The workshops will be offered at select YMCAs from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, from June 14 to July 19. No workshop will take place July 5.

WHAT: Girl Scouts and Community Partners Offer Developmental Workshops and creative Activities for all family members. Workshops are open to all membership is not required.

WHEN: Saturdays, June 14 – July 19 (No meeting on July 5) 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

It is a well-known fact that children thrive in loving family and community. Therefore, these workshops include all family members and are of no cost to the family. Additionally, children under age five will have special activities and games to keep their interest.
