Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Welcomes Nacogdoches Resident Kent Hutchison to Board of Directors
HOUSTON (June 1, 2010) – Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council welcomes Kent Hutchison, senior manager, Mason Construction, as a member-at-large of the Council’s board of directors, effective June 1. Hutchison assumes his role as the Council prepares to host the 52nd National Convention of Girl Scouts of the USA in November 2011, a celebration that is also expected to launch the 100th anniversary celebration of Girl Scouting in the United States.
In his role as a board volunteer, Hutchison will help provide strategic guidance and leadership to one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the country, with more than 72,000 girls served and 17,000 adult volunteers across 26 southeast Texas counties.
Girl Scouting is a tradition for the Hutchison family. Kent is a long-time Girl Scout volunteer, along with his wife. And his two daughters are Girl Scouts in the Pine Burr Service Unit. Hutchison’s involvement has also been critical to the Council’s Beaumont Advisory Board.
Hutchison is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University.
