Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Names 2011-2012 Board of Directors
HOUSTON (June 26, 2011) – Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) welcomed a new president and chair elect, vice chair and four new members to the Council’s board of directors on June 1. Together with Council CEO Mary Vitek, the board of directors provides strategic guidance and leadership to one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the country, with more than 76,000 girls and 18,000 adult volunteers across 26 southeast Texas counties. The board volunteers will assume their role as the Council prepares to host the 52nd National Convention of Girl Scouts of the USA in November 2011, a celebration that is also expected to launch the 100th anniversary celebration of Girl Scouting in the United States.
