Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council welcomes Norma Petrosewicz to the board of directors

HOUSTON (June 27, 2011) – Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) welcomes Norma Petrosewicz as a member-at-large to the Council’s board of directors, effective June 1. Petrosewicz assumes her two-year term to the board as the Council prepares to host the 52nd National Convention of Girl Scouts of the USA in November 2011, which kicks-off the 100th anniversary celebration of Girl Scouting in the U.S.

“The board is proud to have Norma serving our organization,” said Board Chair and President Ellen DeSanctis. “She has always been a dedicated member of Girl Scouts, and we know she will continue to do great things.”

Petrosewicz is an attorney and CPA in her own private practice focusing on estate planning and probate law. She was a Girl Scout from Brownie to Senior level and served as a troop leader in GSSJC for three years. Three of her brothers were also part of the Scouting program, reaching Eagle Scout level.

In addition, Petrosewicz serves as a member of the board of directors for the Madison Charitable Foundation, Inc., on the Advisory Board for the McCombs School of Business – UT Austin and Fort Bend Lawyers Care, and as secretary for the Calvary Episcopal School CPTO. She is an active volunteer for her church, Sacred Heart, and on the board of directors of the Fort Bend Boys’ Choir. Petrosewicz is a graduate of the University of Texas and is married with a daughter and son.
