Help us donate 10,000 cases of Girl Scout Cookies to local heroes this cookie season!
Following their extraordinary efforts during Hurricane Harvey, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council wants to tell first responders across southeast Texas thank you with a package of Girl Scout Cookies this season.
All you need to do is encourage cookie customers to donate their purchases to the Cookies4Heroes (Virtual Cookie Share) program! This is a great option for customers who want to support Girl Scouts without taking home packages of cookies.
Looking for cookies? Here's how to find them.
Where we are:
Keep an eye on this page for where we are in our goal of donating 10,000 cases (that's 120,000 boxes, by the way!) of cookies to first responders across the Council.
What is Virtual Cookie Share?
This is a program where cookie customers cansupport Girl Scouts by purchasing cookies. But instead of keeping the cookies, they donate their purchase to the Virtual Cookie Share program. VCS cookies are then donated by the council to non-profit organizations. This year we want to donate 10,000 cases of cookies to our brave first responders to say thank you for their heroic efforts during Hurricane Harvey and to organizations who support members of our military.
How does Cookies4Heroes work?
During the initial order – Jan. 6 – 21 – encourage cookie customers to consider donating their purchase to Cookies4Heroes. This can be done via in-person orders or online. Online orders will include a processing fee of $1.25 per order.
- Troops are encouraged to continue participating in Cookies4Heroes during booth sales instead of their own cookie share. Each troop who participates will receive two Cookies4Heroes posters from the Council. Your participation will help us maximize our efforts to tell our first responders in all 26 counties thank you!
- Girls who sell at least 12 virtual cookie share packages during the Cookie Program will earn the Cookie Share patch.
- Girls who sell 30 or more packages of virtual cookie share during the Cookie Program will earn the GSSJC Strong patch.
- Troops with at least one girl who sells 30 or more Cookies4Heroes packages during the Cookie Program will be eligible to deliver cookies to their local first responders April 6 – 13. Additional delivery details will be provided to qualifying troops.
