Hurricane Harvey Update: GSSJC to close all buildings at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council will close all council buildings, including camps, on Friday, Aug. 25 at 12 p.m. through the weekend. Additional updates on building closures will be posted on as they are announced.

In addition, the following activities for Aug. 25 - 27 have been canceled:

Camping weekends - Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27
If you were scheduled to camp this weekend at any GSSJC property, your troop has been notified via email and/or phone that all GSSJC camps are closed due to Hurricane Harvey.

This includes:

  • Basic Sailing, Sunfish Mate and Sunfish Skipper at Camp Casa Mare
  • Adult SPURS weekend at Camp Misty Meadows

Community Fall Product Program Training - Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27
If you registered for this training, you should have received notice of its cancelation. Training will be provided via a simulated webinar instead. Please watch your email for the webinar link, which is expected to be sent no later than Friday, Sept. 1.

Scout Day at Splashtown - Saturday, Aug. 26
If you purchased tickets for this event, you will be able to use the same ticket to visit Splashtown before Sept. 23. Please contact Splashtown for additional information.

Brownie Painting Badge Workshop - Saturday, Aug. 26
This workshop will be rescheduled to a later date. Participants will receive notification of this date change once it is finalized.

Council Trip to Savannah Meeting - Sunday, Aug. 27
This meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10. Participants should have received notification of this date change.

Robotics Special Interest Group Meetings - Saturday, Aug. 26
All meetings of Robotics Special Interest Groups have been canceled.

In addition, all Girl Scout Museum Tours will be rescheduled. All recruitment events and rallies held at schools will follow local ISD closure and opening guidelines.
