Small Watercraft is a special interest group for girls
Cadette and up. This weekend will focus on Kayaking skills and water
rescue training. To participate in the Small Watercraft programs,
girls must be a current Girl Scout Member and be a member of the
Small Watercraft Special Interest Group (to register for the group
please join troop #911224). The SIG meets for practice toward GSSJC
paddling levels based on age in canoes, kayaks and Stand-Up
Paddleboards.
Girls must be Cadettes or higher to join
this Special Interest Group. Girls should be confident in their
swimming skills. The GSSJC Proficient Swimmer test will be conducted
by the SIG. Girls paddling off GSSJC Property must pass this test to
paddle in moving water or off GSSJC property.
Girls should arrive on Friday evening already having eaten
dinner. Saturday meals and Sunday Breakfast will be provided.
Note: Cadette and UP. This weekend Girls will stay at Misty
Meadows Ranch, and transport to Robinwood for paddling
activities.
Drop-off and Supervision: This is a drop-off event, adults
do not stay (Girl Scout ratio will be met by
facilitators.)

Slip. Bedding, toiletries, towels, two swimsuits, water shoes or
extra pair of shoes to get wet, sunglasses, insect repellent,
glasses keeper, hats, sunscreen, paddling gloves or bicycle gloves
(optional but great to have).
