Girls with more frequent outdoor experiences are more likely to seek challenges and are better at solving problems—qualities that will help them embark on a lifetime of leadership, both academically and personally.
Girl Scouts has a rich history of connecting girls with the outdoors. Whether they are learning basic survival skills, going on a hike, or cooking over a campfire, every girl should have the chance to experience and discover the wonders of nature. We offer girls this opportunity irrespective of their family's financial situation, thank to our Campership program.
Nearly 2,000 girls attended summer camp at one of GSSJC’s three American Camp Association-accredited programs. During their time at camp, girls have the opportunity to disconnect from the outside world, conquer any sleep-away jitters, explore new activities, and forge meaningful friendships.
Camp builds problem-solvers.

Camp exposes girls to new experiences.
Girl Scout camp gives them a chance to build on their skills or try new outdoor activities. Stimulating activities over the summer months also help prevent summer learning loss.
Camp builds courage, confidence, and character.
Research shows spending time in nature improves concentration and creative reasoning. Outdoor experiences also help promote healthy social development and increase self-esteem.
You can give a girl the time of her life with a gift to the Campership fund. While we value contributions of all sizes, a generous gift of $720 will fully cover the cost of a weeklong camp experience.
Whether a girl’s favorite camp memory is roasting marshmallows, canoeing, or nature hikes under the moonlight, she is better because of it, thanks to your donation.
