
Houston, Texas (Aug. 12, 2025) - Girl Scout of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC), one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the nation, has announced new appointments to its board of directors for the 2025–2026 term. These leaders bring a wealth of experience from the nonprofit, legal, energy, and community sectors, reinforcing the council’s commitment to empowering girls across Southeast Texas.
Melinda Underhill has been elected as the board chair-elect, serving under Elizabeth Bonvillain Kamin, president of the council and board chair. Underhill is the chief volunteer and human resources officer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She previously served as a co-vice chair.
Kirsten Davenport, partner/owner of Davenport Law Firm, P.C., has been re-elected as co-vice chair, serving alongside co-vice chair Jane K. Gasdaska.
