This sign-up represents participation in the Backpacking
Special Interest Group (SIG) from September 2025-May
2026. Because this group will resume activities in
September, you may not receive communication until mid-late August.
Learn how to tackle a trail and the joy of hiking.
Participants will explore a variety of environments on foot by
hiking through parks, forests, and more. Members of the group also
will have travel leadership opportunities available to them.
Hosted by: GSSJC and based at Camp Silver
Springs, Conroe (various locations will be utilized throughout the
year)
When: The SIG meets year-round monthly. Occasionally, additional meetings/activities are held. A specific meeting schedule will be shared after registration is completed.
Drop-off and Supervision: This is a drop-off event, adults who are not facilitating do not stay (Girl Scout ratio will be met by facilitators).
Adult Requirements: Adults who wish to help
facilitate can sign up through this registration. This event
requires active participation and/or is overnight, so all
facilitating adults must have a current membership and background
check.
Tagalongs: No tagalongs are allowed at this event.

Slip (These will be collected at the first in-person meeting
attended and kept on-file so they only need to be supplied once
for meetings - but additional permission slips may be needed for
non-meeting activities.)
