Find the waterfront activity that best fits your troop's
paddling journey! Safety Reminder: For all waterfront
activities, participants should wear clothing and shoes that can
get wet. Life jackets are provided or bring your own-must be U.S.
Coast Guard-approved.
Corcl
The Corcl
boat is designed specifically for youth ages 8 to 15, providing a
fun and safe way to explore flat water. It's an excellent
introduction to paddle sports, particularly for Girl Scouts
preparing to advance to other activities. Paddlers can move quickly
and easily through the water, making for an exciting first
experience. Please wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind
getting wet. Life jackets will be provided, or you may bring your
own-just ensure it's a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
Canoeing
Canoeing
is a fantastic team-building activity and an exciting way to explore
one of our four scenic lakefronts. You and your group will receive a
brief introduction to canoe maneuvering before paddling out for a
fun-filled experience. This activity is open to Daisies and up, with
a special requirement for Daisies-each Daisy must be accompanied by
an adult to participate. Please wear clothing and shoes that you
don't mind getting wet. Life jackets will be provided, or you may
bring your own - just ensure it's a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life
jacket.
Kayaking
Get out
on the lake and dive into the world of kayaking! This activity
introduces fundamental paddling techniques while building confidence
on the water. Kayaking is a great progression for Girl Scouts who
have experienced Corcls or canoeing and are ready to develop their
paddling skills further. Please wear clothing and shoes that you
don't mind getting wet. Life jackets will be provided, or you may
bring your own-just make sure it's U.S. Coast Guard-approved.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is a fun
water sport inspired by surfing! Using long-handled paddles, you and
your girls can propel SUPs across the water while standing, engaging
core muscles and developing excellent balance and coordination. SUP
is a great next step for Girl Scouts who have mastered canoeing or
kayaking and want to challenge themselves further on the water.
Please wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Life
jackets will be provided, or you may bring your own-just ensure it
is U.S. Coast Guard-approved.
