Wranglers is the third level of the STARS program,
which builds on the riding skills and knowledge gained in the
earlier sessions. This session is open to girls in 6th through
12th grade who have completed both the Saddlehorns and Rustlers
sessions. Girls will learn how to bridle a horse and will explore
equine health and conformation. Horse safety will be reviewed,
and riding skills performed at a walk and a trot. Girls will
rotate through four sessions, including one riding session in the
arena. The program begins with a Friday evening orientation.
Rotations occur all day on Saturday. The program finishes with
troop photos with the horses on Sunday morning.
Friday evening check in begins at 7:00PM and runs
until 8:00PM. Orientation for both girls and adults starts at 9PM
on Friday. Troops can check out at 10AM on Sunday after camp
kapers and troop photos are completed.
Individual girls with a parent/guardian chaperone or troops
with the required number of safety ratio are required to attend
with their girls. Participants and their adults will stay in the
Wildflower cabin cluster which has climate-controlled cabins and
cook their own meals outside under the outdoor kitchen shelters at
the Wildflower cabin cluster. Meals are not provided.
