Saddlehorns (STARS Program Level 1)

Saddlehorns is the first level of the STARS program and is available to girls in 5th through 12th grade. This program teaches girls about grooming, leading, equine nutrition, horse colors, and riding skills at a walk. Basic horse safety is emphasized. Girls will rotate through four sessions, including one riding session in the arena.

Check in will be between 8:30 and 9am. Event is anticipated to last until 5pm. This will be hosted at Misty Meadows Ranch.

Individual girls with a parent/guardian chaperone or troops with the required number of safety ratio are required to attend with their girls. Food is not provided.

Adult Requirements: This is NOT a drop-off event; Girl Scout ratio of adults are required to attend and must register. All girls must have a registered adult/troop leader accompany them. All adults must have a current membership, background check, and Child Abuse Neglect and Protection Training.

Prerequisite: None

Tagalongs: No tagalongs are allowed at this event.

Bring: Girl Permission Slip (F-204 or F-204M), Medical Form (F-185), and Waiver (F-1157) or Adult Emergency Slip (F-22) and Waiver (F-1157). A complete packing list and instructions will be included in the event confirmation sent when registration closes approximately two weeks before the event.
