Small Watercraft SIG: San Marcos River Clean Up

SIG members unite for paddling and service! This day trip, for Cadettes and up, will develop Level II moving water skills in a Canoe or Kayak (your choice!) and give back to the environment. There is an optional supper provided at this event for any who wish to attend.
  • Cadettes and up who are members of the Small Watercraft SIG can join this day trip to paddle the San Marcos River. Participants MUST have prior attendance with a Small Watercraft SIG weekend that develops canoe or kayak skills including rescue skills. Please contact smallwatercraftsig@gmail.com for confirmation prior to registration.
  • Successful passed Swim Proficiency Test
  • All participants will need to have their own transportation to this event.
  • Girls will need to pack their own lunch in a waterproof bag.
Drop in is between Fentress and Prairie Lee. Take out at Prairie Lee. This paddle route is expected to end at 5:00 pm.
 
Note: Must be a Cadette or higher.
 
Drop-off and Supervision: This is a drop-off event (Girl Scout ratio will be met by facilitators.)

Tagalongs: No tagalongs are allowed at this event.  
Bring: GirlPermission Slip/Medical Form; AdultEmergency Slip. Minimum 1 quart of water, change of clothes, towel, waterproof lunch bag, watershoes, sunscreen and hat.
