SPURS Training

Please do not register for this SIG if you have not successfully completed SPURS training or STARS PA training

Do you enjoy working with horses and want to share that with other girls on weekends at Misty during the school year? Spend a weekend at Misty learning the theories and hands-on skills needed to join the SPURS (Super People Using Riding Skills) special interest group at Misty Meadows Ranch! Participants who successfully complete training and pass a written exam will receive their level one SPURS scarf to be ready to work with the weekend riding program during the school year. No previous riding experience is necessary. Participants will be in cabin-style accommodations and must provide their own meals, bedding, and toiletries.

Drop-off and Supervision: This is a drop-off event. Adults do not stay unless they are registered for the event. Girl Scout ratio will be met by facilitators.

Adult Requirements: Any adults supervising girls outside of their family must have a current membership and background check. Adults must also be registered for the event to stay and participate.

Tagalongs: No tagalongs are allowed at this event.

Bring: F-203 Girl Permission Slip, F-185 Girl Medical Form, F-22 Adult Emergency Form, Farm Animal Waiver.
