STARS Program Aide (PA) Training is the fourth level of the
STARS program. This session is open to girls in 7th through 12th
grade and at least 13 years old who have completed Saddlehorns,
Rustlers, and Wrangler sessions. Girls who are interested in
teaching horse skills to younger girls should attend this course.
STARS are asked to work at least one fall and on spring weekend per
year. This training weekend will focus on improving horse handling
skills, teaching techniques, professionalism, and team work. All
food is provided for girls and adults.
The program
begins with a Friday evening orientation. Rotations occur all day on
Saturday. The program finishes with a trail ride on Sunday
morning.
Friday evening check in begins at
6:30PM and runs until 8:00PM. Orientation for both girls and adults
starts at 9PM on Friday. Troops can check out at 12PM on Sunday
after camp kapers and PA trail ride are completed.
Individual girls with a parent/guardian chaperone
or troops with the required number of safety ratio are required to
attend with their girls. Participants and their adults will stay in
the Wildflower cabin cluster which has climate-controlled
cabins.

Adult Requirements: This is NOT a drop-off event;
Girl Scout ratio of adults are required to attend and must register.
All girls must have a registered adult/troop leader accompany them.
All adults must have a current membership, background check, and
Youth Protection Training 1 and 2.
Prerequisite: Must have completed Saddlehorns,
Rustlers, and Wranglers sessions
Tagalongs: No tagalongs are allowed at this
event.
